Knightmotive

Terms of use

Last updated 6 October 2026

By using Knightmotive you agree to these terms. They are written to be read.

The service

Knightmotive provides chess lessons, an analysis board and a practice opponent. It is offered for learning and enjoyment. We work to keep the chess content accurate, and every exercise is checked with a chess engine, but we do not promise that it is free of errors or that using it will raise your rating by any particular amount.

Your use

Ownership

The course text, lesson design and site code belong to Knightmotive. Chess moves and positions themselves are facts and belong to no one. The site also uses open-source components that remain under their own licences; they are listed on the Credits and licences page.

Your progress

Guest progress is saved in your browser. When online accounts are connected, signed-in progress is also saved online (see Privacy). Changes waiting to sync can be lost if browser data is cleared. You can download a backup in Settings. Use one account per learner and keep sign-in details private. A parent or guardian should manage a child’s account. Deleting saved progress does not delete the authentication account.

Paid features

The site is free today. If paid plans are introduced, the price, what is included and the refund policy will be shown before you pay, and the sale will be handled by a separate payment company.

Availability and liability

The site is provided as it is. It may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn. To the extent the law allows, Knightmotive is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
